What's the difference between Miami and Jupiter?

Miami has many remarkable sites including beautiful natural reefs, over 30 shipwrecks, and the famous Neptune Memorial Reef, all here in our backyard. Jupiter requires a longer drive of 1.5 hours each way, making it a longer day trip but offers gorgeous crystal clear waters with the deep pristine reefs, shipwrecks, and an abundance of sharks and pelagic creatures that makes it a world-class destination for shark diving, right here in our backyard.

Is it safe to dive with sharks?

Diving with our resident sharks in Jupiter is a relatively safe experience and we have never had any incidents with any of our divers. The shark handler/feeder has the most direct contact with the sharks, not you, and it is recommended to keep your distance from them and the bait box. That being said, we are diving in a natural environment with wild creatures and a level of risk is always inherent when diving in the Ocean. However, we pride ourselves on our safety record because we guide you on the dive and act as an additional layer of protection and eyes on your back looking out for you, in addition to recording your experience and making it most memorable.

Why is nitrox mandatory?

The primary benefit for using enriched air whilst diving is that you are exposed to less nitrogen when you go diving. The higher the percentage of oxygen in the cylinder means you will be breathing less nitrogen. You can use this benefit to your advantage in a couple of ways; one option is to extend your no stop time during your dives, so you get longer dive times, especially when completing repetitive dives.

Given that our shark dives consist of three repetitive deep dives ranging from 60-100FT (18-30meters), diving on Nitrox will permit you for longer bottom times & less nitrogen absorption, which in turn lowers the risk of decompression sickness and allows for more time to spend with the sharks.

Can you guarantee we will see sharks?

Jupiter is known for typically having numerous species of sharks on every dive, and we have the best shark spotters and handlers in South Florida in order to maximize the odds of finding sharks. Although extremely rare, there have been days where we have only spotted a shark or two.

There is a saying in fishing that goes: if we guarantee that you will catch fish they wouldn’t call it FISHING but CATCHING…
